What is bespoke jewelry?

'Bespoke' or 'custom' jewelry is jewelry designed and crafted just for you. Getting a custom piece of jewelry made is neither as scary nor (necessarily) as expensive as you might think. Indeed a custom piece with individually selected or repurposed stones can be an excellent value.

a bit about the process

Whether designing from scratch or breathing new life into old jewelry, it all starts with a conversation about what you are looking for. Some of my clients know exactly what they want. Some have only questions. Some start with inherited stones or an old piece that no longer works with their style. Some don't. Wherever you are is where you are, and that's okay.

Once a client reaches out, we discuss their ideal piece, their budget, their hopes and dreams, and anything else they think I should know or I think I should know. I then spend some time on the design process. Once my client and I agree on the final design, the manufacturing process begins. The extremely abbreviated version of that: a wax is made of the design, the client approves, the wax is cast in the desired metal, some magic happens through the hands of a few skilled artisans, and we've got a final piece.

Before and After: after decades of daily wear, this opal pendant needed a revamp. We streamlined the design and added bars for structure and to hide cracks in the stone. To them, it still resembles the "lightning bolt" she felt when she first fell in love with him.

Rockin' Engagement Ring. Black diamond surrounded by purple sapphires and white diamonds, set in 2 tone rose and white gold.

Blooming Ring. White gold, diamonds. Inherited stones: engagement ring created for a woman who loves nature and works with her hands.

Danielle Proof. White gold and diamonds. She asked to use her Grandmothers' diamonds, and he added 2 more random sizes for good measure.

30 year anniversary wedding bands. Reused original stones, and designed completely new rings for them.

CONVERSATION PIECES

Nouveau Wave Ring. Platinum, diamonds, and sapphires. Created for someone with stones she inherited from a loved one.

Tentacle ring. Blackened palladium with a black pearl and cabachon emeralds. Custom crafted for a gentleman with a passion for Lovecraft.

Signature Ring. Available in any gold or silver. I wear the original every day. It could be an excellent alternative to a class or signet ring.

Molly's Cocktail Ring. Yellow and white gold with inherited blue topaz.

Squiggle Ring. She'd lost an earring, so we made a ring with the stone from the remaining earring. Tanzanite set in silver.

Emerald Marquis Ring. 18K yellow gold and emeralds. Initially designed as an engagement ring for someone who wanted a lot of sparkle that stayed low to the finger.

Spindle Earrings. A perennial favourite: they look good on everyone.*
